How to copy music CD with one drive

I apologize for this stupid question but I've looked and can't find the answer.

My Win7 Home Premium PC has one optical drive, a DVD burner. How do I use it to make an exact copy of an existing music CD?

    Thanks...

    Open Window Media Player (WMP).
Place a blank CD-R disc in the drive.
Use the Rip, then burn feature of WMP.

Most copy programs will let you choose the source and target drives. If you select the same DVD/CD drive the program will first copy the files to your hard disk and then prompt you to put in a blank disc and then copy the files to that disk.

I use CDBurnerXP: Free CD and DVD burning software It is free and does a good job.

Thanks for your help, but I do not see this option. Which menu is it under?

that windows media player option won't make an exact audio copy unless you chose the wav option - you may well lose some audio quality during the compression process otherwise.

try using cdburnerxp as recommended above - it will be easier and quicker - basically it copies the disc to your hard-drive first, then burns that copy onto a blank disc. it's free and does the job (and others too!) very well.
