WMP 12 mp3 track search problems

Hi, I've just noticed that when playing back some mp3 files in WMP 12, the progress / search indicator isn't working properly. If you click on it to jump ahead to some point in the song, the music actually does not jump forward enough. So when the pointer reaches the end of the bar, the music is still playing and the track might only be 50% through. The track time then carries on past the length of the track and keeps going.

If anyone has knowledge of this I would be grateful. I don't know for sure but it might be related to the shark codec pack. I use this to achieve FLAC playback via WMP12, which works perfectly. I should say that the mp3's that have a problem are all 320kbps files which I created long ago from FLAC files and have been used without any problems for several years.

I have fixed the problem, it was related to the shark codecs. The shark codecs were set to use "ffdshow" rather than the native windows codec for mp3 files. So when playing mp3s I was getting the ffdshow icon in the task bar. I de-selected that option in the codec pack and now playback is fine. Not sure what the issue was but turning off that option has solved it.
