7229 slow to show folder contents with avi files

Strange problem here, first time I have observed this in any Windows 7 build: when I click on a folder with movies in it, it takes about 1+ seconds to show the contents.

Anyone else experienced this same problem with build 7229? Not something I experienced with previous builds...

I get a similar thing But not on my main C:\ only on my other 3 500gb drives sometimes the response time is slow, But thats normal (I Think) as for the main C:\ everything is pretty much instant but I'm only judging this as I haven't really put anything in them besides a couple of Tv shows and a bit of music so far.

This is going to be affected by the codecs you're using - or not using. Avoid, at all costs, anything called a 'codec pack'. For x64 users, there's a xVid x64 binary that works wonders. Or, you can use the decoder from DivX.com

Obviously, rendering times will be dependent on your drive(s), CPU and the overall efficiency of your system.

It's not normal, at least not for me as I had instantaneous response on 7139, 7100 and all previous builds before these. There is some bug, at least for me, that is causing this very bad lag; which I believe is due to the windows search.

Luckily I have build 7100 installed on a different drive, so I will check that one to rule out this being related to anything else that has happened subsequently. Will report back soon...

Well if you just installed the OS, then your indexer and superfetch have to do the work they did on the other systems. Just give it a day to index your computer, even though I hate system restore, search, and indexer.
