Is there any decent free CD ripping software available>
I have some old CDs I want to convert so they can go on the MP3 player. Unfortunately it seems the freeware options I'm finding are loaded with PUP and other junk. I did have FreeRip, but my old install was damaged so I had to fresh install a few months back to rip an album for someone else- it hijacked my browser and such. Last night I found CDex which is open source and well-known, only to try to install it and it's giving numerous options to install junk too. And since the last couple of programs I installed totally ignored when I unchecked those boxes and dumped their junk onto my system anyway, I cancelled the install because I simply do not trust such programs anymore.
I don't need extra AV software, or my browser settings changed, or a new web browser. I need to rip MP3s off CDs I already own. Please tell me there's still a program that can do this without giving me extra crap. And if you absolutely must ask, I do own Cds that are A) not possible to purchase in digital format because they're either obscure or out of print, and B) too obscure to even find in torrent form, so if I want to listen to them I have to rip them.
