Help!! Media Player 12 Crashing :(

    Help!! Media Player 12 Crashing :(


    Ive been just dealing with this issue for some time, randomly my Windows Media player displays a message after listening to music saying Windows Media player stopped working. What do i need to do to track down why its crashing?

    Everytime it crashes it gives me the below information

    I would go for the simple option and try reinstalling media player...Your music files etc will still be in your libraries

    Or you can get VLC, a nice media player.

    Otherwise if you want to deal with this application failure there could be someone on these forums which has more windows media knowledge than i do...

    Yeah, ive tried reinstalling windows media player via the add and remove features rebooting and then going back and selecting windows media player again. No luck. I would like to stick with Windows media player. I do use VLC from time to time.

    When you uninstalled WMP did you uninstall then restart the PC and reinstall? If you just uninstalled and then reinstalled, the original problem can still be there.

    I believe ive tried uninstall and restart but i will give it a shot again, its been awhile since ive tried it

    Ok so when i removed windows media player from features rebooted and tried to install again it gives me this. Please help!! lol As of right now i have no way to listen to music

    I didnt read this all the way but it is building up towards your issues Windows Media Player 12 is Broken and I Can't Figure Out How to Re-Install.

    Not really my area of expertise....as if I had one....but if your libraries are very large that can cause the issue...on the last post do you have any restore points?

    Yes i do. Kinda saving that as a last resort lol but its looking like thats my only option. But thats going to bring back the original crash issue >.<

    Currently Running sfc /scannow

    Edit: Don't know if this helps but attached is my CBS log, Out of C:/windows/logs/cbs

    sorta looks like your registry is whacked it is having issues locating root files

    also not sure if this would work ever try to install a older version then update it see if it will go through
