Cannot Play .WMA Link

I cannot play a link containing a .wma file. I get 'Internet Explorer Cannot Display the Webpage.' I can save the file and play it. I have IE8 installed in Vista and the link works. I do not have any other player installed. Any ideas?

Thanks

Try this:
  1. Click the "Start" Orb
  2. Click "Default Programs"
  3. Click "Set you default programs"
  4. Select "Windows Media Plaer" in the list
  5. Click "Set this program as default"
  6. Click "OK"
  7. Click the "Close" button in the upper-right cornet of the window
Did that sovle the problem for you?

Your antivirus program, firewall or some other software may be blocking the page link and file.

I can get it to display and play.

Someone from Microsoft TechNet suggested:
'This indicates to me that the local MIME type association is broken. You can reset that by going to the Default Programs:Set Program Access and Computer Defaults control panel tool to set WMP as the default.'
It worked, problem solved.

iTunes was the culprit in my case

I had two computers that had the same behaviour, one Vista the other one Windows 7. In both cases iTunes was the culprit as it changed the default. After choosing custom for computer defaults > Media player > Windows media player the wma link start functioning normally.

"Play All" link does not work
Hi again, this is my second thread here :) Problem: The "play all" link at the top of the Windows Explorer does not do anything. I would find this very useful instead of highlighting all music files and press "play in WMP"
