Instant Message Applications Pausing Windows Media Player Audio

Okay here's a problem I haven't experienced in any other Windows OS The problem simply is that whenever I receive an instant message via Yahoo, AIM, etc., the alert plays but, my Media Player pauses just for that second it takes for that alert to play & continues to play afterward This happens with both my system speakers & headphones. Is there a way to make it so that my audio doesn't pause? Is there a setting that I'm missing??

can't find any settings in WMP--but--the alert sounds can be turned OFF in your IM apps

I know that is an option but, I want to keep them on. I would just like for it to not interrupt Media Player playback.

    OK...then check this page out:

How to Watch Videos on your Computer without any Interruption

one of the described apps may do what you want

    try:
Close All Windows - The Easy Way - NTWind Software

    and:
SmartClose - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com

this one may not be compatible with win7

The screen saver isn't the problem. The problem is audio interference. The article mentioned how IM apps can interrupt but offered no desired solution. I don't want to close the apps. I just want them to not interrupt playback. I would like for them to notify me simultaneously with Media Player playback.

Yeah that is exactly what I'm afraid of. I do have the exact same issue with my Droid phone lol. I guess I'll just have to live it for now.
