Well I'm at the end of my little check list here, without something more solid to work with. Just keep in mind, just because a device doesn't show a problem doesn't mean the driver is fine.

About the last thing I can suggest is running a full defrag on the drive and seeing if the video clears up. You should let it play for a minute or two without skipping around or anything before determining that it's problematic. Some systems are just slower to get the stream up.

Sadly that's the end of what I have for you. That and disabling the more advanced windows theme support. Which will open up more display resources for video playback.

Video Lag

Recently my dell Studio 1735 laptop has been glitchy & pixilated as neted in another post.
I tried running only the VLC program when the problem occurs but, have limited success; I also doubled virtual memory cache.
