Wrong colours when watching picturs with windows picture viewer and...

I attached a picture to this post to help me expalin. If you look at the picture on the left (using the windows default one) the colours are out of place but on the right (at the moment using quicktime) the colurs are okey. Also when i go to fullscreen move with the windows default one everything is okey. Anybody got some tips how to fix it ?

I have exactly the same thing. I never found a cure and it makes the pictures look horrible.

I downloaded Nero free viewer. Nero 10 is the new pay so I got one of the old free versions.

There are also a bunch of other free ones to use. HP has an image viewer and hundreds of others I'm sure.

Never found a cure to the ugly yellow background.

I hope someone has a cure that would be nice.

If you have a Samsung Monitor this could be the answer to your problems:
Its to do with the color management system.Heres how to correct it:

    open control panel
type color in the search bar and click on the green color management link
in the dialog that appears tick the box under your monitor name which says "use my settings for this device"
    click on the add button
There will appear a list of color profiles. You want to select sRGBIEC611966-2.1 and click ok
click on the set as default profile button and then close button

    Hope this helps
EDIT: Apologies forgot to add that the above was found on Google. It's not mine!

That should take care of it. I had the same problem after getting a Samsung Monitor and it drove me crazy for a few days, but the above fixed it.

We are both using Samsung monitors.

    I'll give it a try.

Didn't even know there was such a setting.
    Default was Samsung 1.0.

    Changed it and perfecto mundo!!

    Thanks Mitchell.

it worked for me many moons ago. :)

that was back in the pre-release stage, you would have thought that somebody at microsoft or samsung would have done something about this by now...

I never found any info. I wasn't looking for the right info or the right place. LOL

I had this monitor for about two years with XP with no problems so never suspected a monitor setting.
