No-Signal annoyance

Ok guys & gals I'd like to know if anything like this this happens to anyone else.

Situation: I use a Toshiba 37" lcd as a 3rd monitor it is hooked up with hdmi 1900x1080p. Love the TV btw. It actually shows up in CCC as monitor #2, but it's part of the htpc & 5.1. 5670 with the latest drivers. Got an active display port adaptor for monitor #1.

Annoyance: Using MC or MP on occasion when I close the player the TV drops out and I get a "No Signal" bar that floats. It will also happen if I drag the player out of the 37" onto another screen. Desktop background will not return unless I a; reboot (puhleese). b; unplug the hdmi cable and plug it back in, yeah CCC loves that process. c; turnning the TV off and back on.
Note; this does not happen if I use VLC player. No problems with IE, FF, or other windowed or full screen apps or games, seems to be just with MC or MP.

Any thoughts?
