solved video thumbnails error

hi guys even i was suffering from the same problem but i got the solution

solution:
open "my computer"
goto "tools"->"folder options"
under "view" tab
click "apply to all folders"

this will solve your problems. Whenever you open a folder with video file in it, it will be viewed as tiled and you won't get any such error.

My Fix

Hi, I was having the same problem, my Explorer was crashing if I even just highlighted an .mkv file. I finally figured it had to do with divx which had defaulted to open my mkv files and I couldn't change it because everytime I tried Explorer would crash. I finally changed the default program through control panel, and it could play the file but would still crash when opening the file. So I went and uninstalled divx player and voila! Explorer doesn't crash anymore and now I can run mkv files. So I'd check to see if you have divx player installed then uninstall it.

I've already reinstalled everything Divx, and I'm using the latest codec pack. The thumbnails were gone after a reboot, so now I only see blue/yellow Divx icons. After I reinstalled the codec pack I could see thumbnails for mvk files, but avi and mp4 are still the same. I'm 99% sure I haven't made...

Viewing recent files in Explorer
Here is the sequence I do. I work on a file in Word, I saved it. Then I want to email it to someone or upload to a website. When I open Explorer it just gives me an option called Recent Places which is a list of folders I have recently accessed. Then I have to remember (Word doesn't make that easy...

Hello there. I really enjoy Windows 7, but recently I ran into a problem that keeps making me swear like a sailor and elicit tremendous amounts of HATE when I try to solve it (and can't). The thing is, all of a sudden more than half of the folder thumbnails in my Music library disappeared. But...
