how to stop win7 from creating the hidden ".files"

every time I transfer a file to video or picture folder, a hidden file such as "*.jpg.files" or "*.avi.files" with the same name as the transfer file is created automatically. This is really annoying. Could someone show me how to stop win7 from creating those hidden files?
BTW my OS is Windows 7 Home Premium x64

I found the solution in the other thread of this forum. It is the Vaio Analysis setting not windows 7 problem. Thanks for your reply anyway

Can you give the solution -- how did you fix it. I can't find a Vaio Analysis file and Sony web is no help. I can't locate that other thread you were referring to -- would be good to give more info for others.....

What are hidden ".~lock" files?
I keep getting hidden files starting with .~lock. on my new Windows 7 computer. They seem copies of documents I've been creating (word files, etc.). What are they and how do I get rid of them? And turning off 'display hidden folders' is not the answer I'm hoping for! :)
