Plasmas do use much more power than an LED back lit tv. And I am nearly 80% sure that the picture quality and the colour quality is much better on an LED TV.

with regards to 3D movies etc. I feel that people are being put off them by the fact that a lot of movies are not actually filmed in 3D but are instead just having the film played twice to give an appearance of 3D. This doesn't give you a very good experience as it isn't really 3D but instead a cheap trick to manipulate your brain into believing it is watching in 3D.

No one has actually answered the malware question about internet TV's being infected by them.
Yes, the internet connected TV's can be infected with malware.

Also, Plasma uses almost the same power as LCD TV's and Plasma has a much better picture when comparing similar priced and spec'd TV's.

What happens then if you were browsing the web on your TV and you came across say the XP virus what would happen to your TV and how would you get shut of it.

And with regards to the plasma I am not saying it doesn't have a better picture quality than a normal LCD but an LED does have a much better picture quality.

And with regards to the power consumption, well modern plasmas may use less power than the older ones but they still use more power than LED TV's. LED Vs Plasma - Power Consumption

EDIT: I have just read an aprticle that does confirm that Plasmas do indeed have better HD quality pictures, but they also have their weaknesses compared to LED tv's.

LED and LCD both use the same panel, only difference is the backlight.
Normal LCD uses CFL Tubes and LED uses LED's for the backlight.
Plasma has better image than both LED and LCD.

Also, you will save on your heating bill in the winter time using a Plasma.

That stinks that they have that 40MHz refresh rate over there. I have always thought 60MHz was too blinky for my eyes. I don't like 3D screens for that reason, you can't put them up to 75MHz/75MHz, so the whole movie blinks like something mad.
As for being able to watch YouTube on a TV, it would be about the same as X-Box Live, or the PS3. Yeah people could mess with them, but more likely they're going to use the TVs to hack into other things.
