2 Questions about new 3D TV's.

I have been eyeing up one of these new Samsung 3D tv's that allow you to view Youtube, IPlayer and browse the web also. What puzzles me is would the viruses such as the XP virus for instance or any other virus affect your TV, or would it soon become necessary to have an AV installed on your TV.

Another question I have is about the 800MHz refresh rate that these TV's have. Now I know that 3D tv's have 800Mhz as there are two different pictures shawn one after another which allows you to watch in 3D, and that is why such high refresh rates are required. I also know that the faster the refresh rate the better the picture that your watching as it gives a smoother picture. the thing that puzzles me with this though, is whether the actual cameras that are doing the recording actually record at 400Mhz per lense i.e. 2 * 400Mhz = 800Mhz.

Nope it is defo 800hz, so works out 400hz, and I have seen a game of tennis and they are impressive.

As for the plasma, well they chew the power like no ones business, LED back lit screens stop the earth from cooking, and they are only 3cm thick, and on top of that a 46 inch screen is only 100cm wide.

I don't have a 3d plasma, but I have a plasma and I have not noticed any power difference compared to the LCD TV that I replaced. From what I have read, the power difference is often $20 or less...per YEAR.

He's in Europe so they are using a 50hz based system.
ours is 120/240 and 600 due to us using a 60hz based system.

the cameras that record the movies are 24fps. There are actually 2 cameras that record 1 3D image, either using side by side cameras or a top and bottom camera using a beam splitter.

the TV does all the processing for the consumer 3D playback.

I think plasma will soon be the BetaMax of TV's. You'll need to see them side by side, Plasma, LCD, LED to see the difference. 3D is still developmental, I'd wait some time before buying one.

Betamax died almost out of the gate. VHS owned that market. With Plasma TV's, they have been around quite a long time already. The # of makers has certainly dwindled, but I wouldn't trade my Panasonic Plamsa for any LED based TV at the present time.

I actually cannot see 3-D movies because of an eye problem that I had as a kid..so this whole 3-D shift is a total non-issue for me.

Plasmas do use much more power than an LED back lit tv. And I am nearly 80% sure that the picture quality and the colour quality is much better on an LED TV.

with regards to 3D movies etc. I feel that people are being put off them by the fact that a lot of movies are not actually filmed in 3D but are instead just having the film played twice to give an appearance of 3D. This doesn't give you a very good experience as it isn't really 3D but instead a cheap trick to manipulate your brain into believing it is watching in 3D.

No one has actually answered the malware question about internet TV's being infected by them.
