Windows 7: VLC Skinned

VLC Skinned

VLC has an optional link in the Start Menu to open it skinned in a fashion that I prefer to it's non-skinned GUI, but that only works when starting it from the Start Menu. If I select a video directly from my file manager, it opens VLC non-skinned.

I've been experimenting by creating a shortcut to the exe that has the same command line switch as the Start Menu, by adding "-Iskin" to the end of the target field, with the intention of selecting it with the Open With on the context menu, making it the default, rather than the exe itself. However, when I click on it, instead of VLC opening, nothing happens, except that it leaves a dead process, that I have to clear with the Task Manager. If I remove the switch from the Target field, it works as it should.

This leaves the question of how to make VLC open skinned as I have described? I have not found any skinning option in VLC's preferences.
