Pictures from DVD show to desktop

I have made a slide show of our recent holiday, the pictures of which are now all on a DVD Disc. I now want to take copies of these pictures to make prints. Rather stupidly, I reformatted my camera CF Card so do not have the originals.

Is there a way I can get copies from the DVD show and if so, can soneone please point me in the right direction?

    Best wishes,

The easiest way would be to right-click a still image on the DVD and save it to a different location then print it.

However, because the images are part of a slide show they will have been compressed, which affects the resolution and by definition restricts the size of the printed images.

They should though, be good enough to print at least a 6" by 4" photo.

In future always save your original images first, it'll save you a lot of heartache.

If you gaven't used your CF card since, you may be able to recover the original images with data recovery software:

I tried your suggestion but unfortunately it won't work. When I try to right click on an image there is no provision for copying in the attendant drop down menu. Thanks anyway.

Rest assured, I have learnd my lesson, all my shots will now be saved to a back up disc.

    Regards,

As a last resort, try copying the contents of the DVD to your hard drive and then try to right-click and copy.

Have you tried Recuva? I once formatted the wrong partition and had resigned myself to losing over 5,000 images. It took some time, but Recuva retrieved every one for me.

    Printer Problem

I got on fine thanks, I opened the Epson site and someone wanted to charge me £21-00 for advice so I quickly moved on and uploaded the latest driver for the printer, changed the usb cable from a hub to the back of the computer, restarted my machine and hey presto, everything works fine. I had to change all my ink cartridges as they had dried out over the past 10 months nevertheless, I eventually got there.

Thanks for your help. I do, like your flags, was ther a RN Fleet Air Arm areoplane called the Sea Vixen? I know there was a SeaFire and a Sea Fury. As an ex RN sparker, I would like to show the white ensign alongside my user name but am not sure how you do that??

    Cheers for now.

There was most definitely an RN aircraft known as the Sea Vixen. It was built by De Havilland at Hatfield and first entered naval service with 890 Squadron in February 1960. The Sea Vixen was officially retired in 1972 and last flew from HMS Eagle with 899 Squadron.

The aircraft in my signature is the only airworthy Sea Vixen left and during the last few years has put on a splendid display at air shows up and down the country.

To display the flags you mention, you need to go to User CP at the top of the WSF page and look for Your Profile. Click Edit Details then scroll down the page until you come to a drop-down list for Country and State/Region.

Choose your flags then click Save. Obviously, it won't have the white ensign, but the England flag against the Union flag looks pretty good.
