Windows 7: picture recovery

picture recovery

i opened a file from MS paint, i edited it and by chance saved it on the original one and now i have the edited version which has some affects on it but i want to get my original one back.
please help urgent

Hi, chances are the the edited one was overwrote the original one. BUT, you can see if you can find an Undo option in the right-click menu of the folder where you saved it.
Also right click the picture file, Properties, Previous versions and see if one is available.
To keep the original, any edited file, any kind, must either have a different name applied OR saved to a folder different from the original.

Just for future reference, If you need to repair or restore previous versions of any files, you can download the free app ShadowExplorer http://www.shadowexplorer.com/ which is an alternative program for Vista and Windows 7 for the Previous Versions feature that is not available for all editions.

i did what u said then restored it to last edited image it automatically gave me the old file cheers!
