Windows Live Movie Maker Problem/Question I'm trying to speed up my movie on Windows Live Movie Maker but the button appears to be disabled. I've followed all the directions on the various tutorials I've found.

If you are talking about the one in the picture, it should not be disabled. Try with a video of a different filetype. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |

Sorry for being dense. I'm using jpeg images that I loaded from my camera. Never had difficulty with this in the good old days of movie maker. I got as far as getting a movie out of the pictures but the speed option that's highlighted in the screen shot is disabled. Obviously I'm relatively new and terminology is a bit of a problem - hope you (or anyone reading this) understands my response. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit |

If you only have .jpeg images and are about to make a video, then the speed control is disabled. That is the case on my system too. You need a video first. I suggest you reimport the video you just produced from the pics and try to speed that up. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |

If you are making a slide show the speed button is disabled. The duration button determines how long each picture is displayed so is in effect a "speed" button for slide shows. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Hewlett-Packard/G62-107SA Notebook OS Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 7601 Multiprocessor Free Service Pack 1 CPU Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU M 330 @ 2.13GHz Motherboard Hewlett-Packard 1425 Memory 8 GB DDR3 Graphics Card Intel(R) HD Graphics Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays Builtin Screen Resolution 1366 x 768 x 32 bits (4294967296 colors) @ 60 Hz Mouse Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 Hard Drives 250 GB SATA Hard Disk Drive 7200 rpm
