Yet another media player to play bluray movies
Today I was lazily browsing the net to find out how the various media players are rated. An article said that Daum Pot Player - successor to the KM player - is the current ruling king. ( I know nothing about KM Player. :))
I was always stuck to WMP and W7MC. Only recently I added Media Player Classic - Home Cinema since it can play blu-ray movies which WMP/W7MC cannot. So my criterion for considering any other media player is whether it can play Bluray movies.
So I downloaded the 32bit English version of the Daum Pot Player, installed and straight away fed it with a bluray disk in my BDROM drive. ( I have anyDVDHD running in the background.) Right click>open> CD Drive Z and off it went. It straight away picked up the main playlist and started playing the bluray movie the same way as MPC-Home Cinema does. One can select the audio and subs from the right-click menu.
As opined in various review articles I selected the Video Renderer Haali. Anything other than "automatic selection" is supposed to result in better picture quality.
Here then is another Bluray movie player The Daum Pot Player. The latest 32bit and 64bit English version can be downloaded from here : DVB Support Download Center » Tools » Players
I have tried only one bluray movie. Those interested may try and post their comments. ( If you are looking for a free on-the-fly decrypter there is DVDFab Passkey lite)
