Photos missing from a folder.

I drag and dropped photos from my camera into a folder on an external hard drive, now i dont find them. the folder is empty, where can they be?

Run a search on the external hard drive for .jpg and check to see if they show up..

i have hundreds of photos on that harddrive as it is a harddrive just for my photos so it will probably find all of them wont it?

Yes. When you dragged the photos you may have dropped them in another folder by mistake. What I would do is check to see what folder was last modified by clicking the last modified bar above the file name and looking fore the most recent date like this:
