Ok, now i feel foolish
For the first time on this laptop I've listened to music and the fault is occurring here, so it seems my diagnosis of the fault lying with the video was incorrect, it's an audio problem. Is this something you could solve or should i move this thread to the appropriate sub forum?

Download the Conexant HD Audio drivers from the Lenovo website and update them...

Now it's really about trial and error.

Check what programs are running with the startup:

1) go to "start" and type "msconfig" without the quotes, open that.
2) go to the Windows Startup tab and take a screenshot (make sure that at least the names are visible)
3) attach it here

Report back after that, please

Can I copy files by dragging?
Using Vista, I could copy files to another location by dragging the name of the file. On Windows 7, however, when I drag, it moves the file (removing it from the original location). Is it possible to copy the file to another drive by dragging without deleting it from the original location?

Window maximizes by dragging to top.
It seems by design in Windows 7, a window will maximize if dragged to the top of the display. It seems to work, but I would like to say I don't really want it to do that. I move windows to the top of my display all the time just to use all the available space so I do not like it maximining if I go...
