Saving pics - other than in My Pictures

As an architect - I often need to save 100's of drawings every day.

In the 'good old days' of XP (forgive me!!) it was very straightforward to save drawings in 'chronological' (as opposed to 'alphabetic') order, in any file, on any disc on my system. Also - as long as that file remained 'open' - XP would store them in the order they were saved - not alphabetically as Windows 7 seems to do automatically at the time of saving them; they would only be sorted into alphabetic order when the file was closed.....in my case - probably at the end of the day when I switched my PC off.

As I'm always in a 'live work' situation - I really do need both of these features

Two questions please.

1. How can I get W7 to keep entries in the order in which they were saved - and not alphabetically (as long a the file is kept open).

2. How do I get W7 to remember which file I'm using to save drawings - without having me to make four 'clicks' to get to the file I used maybe only 30 seconds ago......EVERY time I want to save another drawing....it's an absolute ball acher!!

Best regards to all

Hi, to get them out of alphabetical, go into where you have your pictures, and right click in a empty space, go along to "sort by", hover your cursor over it and select "more", here you have a option of selecting what suits you.

Hope this works.

Right-click any drawing and choose Open With, then select the application you want as the default or use the Browse button to navigate to it if it is not in the list.

Check "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" and click OK.
