    VLC playback delay

Hey guys. I hope I am in a correct department :) Lately I started to have a problem with VLC player.
When I double click on any video file (ex. avi,mp4,mkv.....etc) it is opening the window of the program, but it is starting to play the actual video content after like 45 sec sometimes almost 1min, well needless to say that it is very discussing.
I tried to uninstall compleatly with Revo Uninstaller and install again (version 1.1.11), nothing! then I tried to instal one version lower, still the same!
I always had VLC working like charm.
    Heardwear is not an issue!!!

    Pleas help.
    Thanks :)

A shot in the dark...exit your firewall and AV, and see if the delay still occurs.

    Hey guys. thanks for replying.
seekermeister! I've tried what you suggested, I disabled my antivirus protection totally and still no change. BTW I am using this antivirus softwear forever (ESS 4) as well as VLC and this was never a problem, this problem started to be just lately!
stacey1981! on the other players (Media Player Classic and WMP) which I've tried is still working perfect (as it was).
Roderunner! I know Media Player Classic Home Cinema is very good player, but as my main player I use VLC, so I would realiy like to solve this issue.
    Thanks :)

You mentioned disabling the AV, but what about the firewall?

EDIT: Nevermind, I just realized that you are using a suite which includes both.

Yes yes I disabled every protection on the suit.
Hey guys I've noticed another disgusting problem with VLC, like when I am dragging the SRT file for (for subtitles), video playback is stooping (it's sucking), but audio is playing ok. this is a new problem.
i uninstalled VLC again with Revo uninstaller, then i checked and delete every file and folder related to vlc. I install again, it's the same with playback delay and with video playback stopping when i am dragging the SRT subtitle.
    Pleas HELP :)

Hey guys, I was checking the VLC Preferences (Tools\Preferences), I changed the settings from "Simple" to "All" and under "Video" settings there is Subtitles/OSD, Text rendering module when I changed from Default to "Dummy font render function", VLC started to work ok again (now it's opening the video on time), but now i can not use subtitles anymore!
    Guys what to do???
    Help pleas !
    Thanks

is it just one particular file that you're playing? I've had videos like that before. I guess it was how it was made or with. you get the idea.

    Hey serpentracer.
Thank you for responding. But no man, it is not about one specific video file, it is happening with every video file in my computer.
As I mentioned in my previous post that I set the text rendering on
"Dummy font render function" and now it is opening without any delay as it should, but now it will not display any subtitle, which is very bad, cuz I really need it. But the interesting thing is that it was working perfect before, without delays and also i could play any subtitle, i don't get it....
    Thanks
