    Trouble with picture icons

When I open my pictures folder to make a selection from the numerous pictures I find that all of them appear as the logo of the software designated to open them. Therefore, I am unable to view them all so as to make a selection of which picture/photo I would like to choose.

No matter which software I select to use to open these pictures/photos I get the logo of that software.

I should just be able to open the folder and view all the content within exactly as it is not hidden behind a logo.

Is there anyone out there that has the solution to this problem.

    I am running Win 7 Home premiumx64

    Thanking you
