Windows 7 Photo Viewer slideshow colour problem

    Morning all.

I've got a problem with colour representation in Windows 7 Photo Viewer, but only when I view the images in the Slideshow. When I double click and open them normally within Photo Viewer they are fine, but if I open the Slideshow and allow it to run through all the images (JPEGs) in the folder, they display with a desaturated cast to them - quite different to how they appear when not opened in the Slideshow.

I've read all about the Samsung yellow colour fix etc, but I've tried that fix and nothing changed. And that fix doesn't specifically affect just the Slideshow, as I understand it.

It's doing my head in. Any ideas?

    Morning, and welcome to SevenForums!

Open start menu and type in 'color'
    Hit enter
Go to the Advanced tab and set each parameter to the option that's name begins with 'System default'
    Then click Close!

I hope this problem will be sorted soon. :)

If you run an application which is colour managed it will select the profile set as default under
    color Management>Devices
If you don't have an accurate ICC profile for your monitor it's best to have "sRGB IEC61966-2.1" set as default with the "use my settings box ticked".

    Morning guys.

Thanks, but neither of these suggestions fix the issue. I'm starting to think there's some kind of default quality degradation in the Slideshow viewer. There's no information on this glitch anywhere, but I've experienced it on Vista and Windows 7 on different computers.

As mentioned before, opening the image in Windows Photo Viewer is not the issues - it's only evident when I run the slideshower, and the images appear very differently in respect to their colours.

    Very annoying.

Slideshow viewer has never been a good thing in windows, it is stupid and sometimes buggy. Are you experiencing the problem anywhere else?
