Lost ALL Photos and Videos in Libraries/Album Art Screwed Up :o

I'm in such a mess! I'm new to Windows 7 and "Libraries". Just as I got it all figured out and organized, I seem to have really made a mess by trying to keep WMP from monitoring my video and picture libraries. Now when I click on Start/Pictures or Start/Videos it's EMPTY! Also, and I don't know if this is related, album art is ALL screwed up in WMP. Not all art and songs match.
I hope someone can help PLEASE!
If there is a way to "reset" WMP, maybe that would help. I can't figure out how to keep it from updating WMP. I found where to uncheck the update libraries but there doesn't seem to be a way to stop the program from going on line daily, weekly or monthly to update the program.

The manage libraries option I believe is a global windows function. If you remove a folder from a library with the manage libraries option in WMP it removes it from the library in explorer too. To get your pictures etc back you need to add the appropriate folder under your user folder back into the matching library.

Under the Library tab in tools, options, there is a "Retrieve additional information from the internet" option. Un-check that item and WMP should stop updating your media file info. Also under tools, advanced there is a "Restore media Library and Restore media library deleted items option.

    Thanks alphanumeric.
Once I could breath again I navigated to C\users and found my Pictures and Videos under C\Users\Dell, right clicked and chose Include in Library. Whew!
I had already tried the Restore options but that didn't put all the files back in the library like I assumed it would.

I've got EVERYthing under the Library tab in WMP Tools/Options UNchecked but turned on the computer today to find it updating the program. Under the Player tab, there is an Automatic Update (once a day, week or month) option but no option to never update. Under the same tab, I have "connect to the internet" unchecked.

I think in this case updating refers to making sure the WMP library structure reflects any changes you have made to the files in your windows libraries rather than updating metadata from the internet.

To be honest I wasn't 100% sure what the OP meant by "keep it from updating WMP" and gave it my best guess. Aside from the meta data, WMP scans the libraries (Music, videos, etc folders) for new files in the background. I don't know how you turn that off or even if you can. In MP 11 you could pick and chose which folders were monitored, I haven't found that option in MP 12. Under the player TAB in Options there is an Automatic Updates section. It looks like you can't turn it off either. The options are Once a day, Once a week, or Once a month?

The "Restore Media Library" option will usually fix mismatched meta data. When deleting music etc from media player you have the option to only delete it from media players library. Its still there on your PC, MP just ignores it. The Restore media library deleted items option puts it all back again. It only works though if there are files in the libraries. You removed the folders from your library's so MP didn't see them. When you add them back the files should start popping back up in MP. I liked the old option in MP 11 where you could pick and chose what folders get watched. I don't need MP looking at my Pictures and would like to exclude them. I don't see how you can do it though.
