VLC - does MORE than you think Hi all
VLC is much much more than a free DVD player. I've seen people recommend all sorts of player etc etc but you cannot beet the simplicity and versatility of VLC and it's also a TINY piece of software.
I have not yet seen a codec VIDEO or Audio that it can't handle.
Anyway here's some hidden gems also that you can do with VLC. http://maketecheasier.com/5-things-y...-do/2010/05/06
cheers

The only negative thing is it plays high quality, good quality format movies really laggy, and there is no iTunes way of Playlists, like you can't make a movie playlists for each type of movie and easily access them. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number iRush Pro OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Core i5 2500K Processor Motherboard Intel H67 Chipset Motherboard (Micro ATX) Memory 2x4GB DDR3 1333Mhz Memory Graphics Card Novatech Radeon 6770 1GB Graphics Card Keyboard Novatech Wired Keyboard Mouse Novatech Wired Mouse PSU Novatech 500W Case Novatech ATX Gaming Case Cooling - Hard Drives 1TB Internet Speed VirginMedia 10MB/s |

Another few things you probably didn't know VLC could do.
1. Record you PC screen.
2. If you have a TV card. Play the live stations from it.
3. Play video streams from the internet.
4. The main thing wrong with VLC is the difficulty finding out how to do something. It's usually there but the documentation is dreadful (non existent). | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Hewlett-Packard/G62-107SA Notebook OS Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit 7601 Multiprocessor Free Service Pack 1 CPU Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU M 330 @ 2.13GHz Motherboard Hewlett-Packard 1425 Memory 8 GB DDR3 Graphics Card Intel(R) HD Graphics Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays Builtin Screen Resolution 1366 x 768 x 32 bits (4294967296 colors) @ 60 Hz Mouse Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000 Hard Drives 250 GB SATA Hard Disk Drive 7200 rpm

jimbo It worked great for me until they added PGS and XSubs subtitle support. Now every time I touch it while playing a video it just goes away. I must have tried 20 different versions and nightly builds. They're all untouchable. Really frustrating!!
