Windows 7 - "Could not find this item." "This is no longer located in _____....."

"Could not find this item." "This is no longer located in _____....."

"Could not find this item." "This is no longer located in C:/Users/Amber/My Pictures. Please verify the items location and try again."


How do you delete the file? it was a picture, but now it's like a blank white paper looking thing. i just want it OUT of my pictures file. No, i cannot move it to another folder, it says the same thing as above. It's very irritating.

Windows 7, Premium Vision, HP Pavilion g series, Pavilion g4..

Hi and welcome to SevenForums!

Is this "file" by any chance located in your Start menu under Recent Items? It sounds like you're trying to open a shortcut to the file, but since the file itself is gone the shortcut of course fails (and that's why it would display as a blank page icon now).

You can simply remove the shortcut itself by rightclicking on it and selecting Delete.
