Hi, I have done it you you. download from here,

    MediaPlayer_10.dll

Once downloaded go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Media Player\Visualizations" and replace the "MediaPlayer_10.dll".
Make sure you rename the old one to something like "MediaPlayer_10.dll.bku"

thanks boohbah but, thats not what I mean, I already knew that! LOL

@ rustberger>> thanks but I already know how to change the "player_10_DLL" which is why my picture of WMP I posted above looks the way it does but what I would like to do is put my OWN background picture so it goes with the theme I have can you tell me what program I need to insert my own background? thanks

I know you probably aren't interested in 3rd-party visualizations for WMP (or Winamp, or other music players), and maybe one that is not free is a REAL deal-breaker.

But you might investigate G-Force Platinum (for support of WMP, as well as the optional use of imbedded album art in tags as part of the visualization).

I've been using it for 10 years. Infinite variety, or so it seems, which responds in sync to the beat and mood of the music. Fantastic to watch.

sadly i cant take the credit, mark aka mr grim, from virtual customs made this to go with his premium poison theme, its free to install using 7tsp installer and the folders and clock and much more get changed

    custom wmp walls thread

that would be a good idea,
you could start a new thread in the customization forum with a short tutorial how to mod the wmp background and then start the ball rolling with some custom walls, also it would be good if we could post pics we would like to use for backdrops, if they need changing to a different format then the experts could mod them for us lesser mortals.

i like the red theme on my wmp but the backdrop is a little too dark at the top making it difficult to see the album names without mousing over them.

ok so I found out how to make the changes for the background in WMP

    step 1:
    download res tunner HERE:http://www.restuner.com/download.htm

    step 2:
go to windows_systeme 32 and open "MediaPlayer_10.dll". with res tunner

    step 3:
go to 265/5321.jpg and remplace the background with a new one"must be a jpg 800x600"

step 4:save your DLL with the background you choose with res tuner

step 5: replace the newly edited DLL with the old one (be sure to change the old one to MediaPlayer_10.dll_old)
so you can change it back if you like

and thats it! was very easy to do!
