Windows 7 - Aspect Ratio issue in Windows DVD Maker |

Aspect Ratio issue in Windows DVD Maker I am finding that even though I select 16:9 aspect ratio, the final outcome on the DVD is a distorted 4:3 - only on the movie. The title screen with it's little video clips is showing up as 16:9 on our television.
Any ideas on how to fix this?
Thanks, Kerry

What is the ratio of the input file? My guess would be that the DVD maker cannot really change that. You could run it thru Format Factory or Windows Live Movie Maker to change the aspect ratio beforehand. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway - 2 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista and Windows7, sometimes Ubuntu and Fedora CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to 2.5GHz Quad Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse terrible devices, who wants them Hard Drives 5x HDD, 2x SSD, 6x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |

Yes, unfortunately you need to run it through Windows Live Movie maker, select the aspect ratio there. Here is a link that explains what you need to do. Burn DVD in 16:9 aspect ratio using Windows DVD Maker. - FBB | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell Hell oh Well OS Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit CPU Intel Core 2 Duo 2.93GHz Memory Not much with my ADHD Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 4350 Monitor(s) Displays I have one...It's bright. Thanks folks. the (display) aspect ratio works out to 7:3 for both which translates into 21:9. Far wider than widescreen's 16:9...
As I said earlier, when I chose a theme which displays clips, they appear to be correctly proportioned on the television - The menu appears to be 16:9. It's only when I play the movie that it distorts to 4:3.
I will try running them through windows movie maker and see what happens though. This should prove interesting. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Gateway OS Windws 7 Home premium 64bit CPU amd phenom II X4 810 Motherboard Gateway RS780 Memory 8192 Graphics Card Ati Radeon HD 3200 Monitor(s) Displays Hanns-g HW191D |

Using TuneBite 7 to convert the movie to WMV (mp4) did the trick. Xmas gifts are ready on time. Thanks to all.
