Stream movies from smart phone to tv

Hey guy's, maybe this isn't the place for this question?
But my Daughter would like to stream Netflix movies to her TV via a smart phone (Android) and a Ps3.
Is this possible? She can't afford internet and thought this may be a possibility.
Being an "Old Geezer" I'm a little lost here, I've looked into "Skifta" but don't understand completely the layout of additional equipment that will be needed or how it all works together.
The research I have done references a "x86 ReadyNAS" ?? and this is where I get lost! I was thinking a simple wireless router would work?
Could someone please explain this procedure to me in simple (Old Geezer Talk) so I can understand : 1 the equipment needed, 2 how to hook everything up and make it work.
The way I see it if she needs the "x86 ReadyNAS", those are fairly pricey at about $600.00!
Thanks in advance for any help here... oh and Merry Christmas!

    Well, it's possible.
Her phone needs to have a mobile hotspot, most wireless providers charge around $30 for this feature, but you can "root" an android phone and enable it with a 3rd party app.
The hot spot is what the PS3 will connect to to access the internet through the phone.

What phone does she have and what provider is she using?

Also, some smartphones have mini HDMI ports on them so that you can connect it directly to a TV.

Zepher, the phone is a HTC Incredible 2, with Verizon service.
I will check on the HDMI port.
    Thanks

Since that phone is not 4G (you would still need to have 4G Service in your area to utilize the 4G Speeds), the data rate may be way too low for Netflix playback with the PS3 using the phones network.
Does she currently have Netflix now on her phone? if she does have it, does it playback smoothly with little to no buffering during playback?

Well Zepher, look's like we need go no further, since the phone is not 4G and we live at the end of the Earth!
I thank you, for your time and knowledge...
