Suggest some video editing utilities, softwares. Guys, hello!
I'm new to this editing stuff and to these forums as well.
Would somebody suggest me some softwares from which I can edit videos?
From which I can add text or captions, effects etc to videos.
Thanks. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell Gx270 OS Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit Memory 2 GB Graphics Card Nvidia GeForce 6200 Hard Drives 200 GB Internet Speed 2 MB |

WHS tipped me off to "Machete Lite".
It's a free download that does basic editing on AVI and WMV files, losslessly---you don't lose any quality.
Works great, very quick. I use it to cut out unwanted portions of videos. It can't do anything fancy, but it is very easy to use for its intended purpose.
The same company also has "Machete", which has many more features, but is not free--I've never used it. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Ignatz Special; 4 speed manual gearbox; factory air conditioning; one of one OS Windows 7 SP1, Home Premium, 64-bit CPU Intel Sandy Bridge i5-2500, not overclocked Motherboard Gigabyte H67A-UD3H-B3, full ATX Memory 4 GB Crucial DDR3-1333 Graphics Card none; graphics are integrated on CPU Sound Card onboard: Realtek ALC892; external: USB Behringer UF0-202 Monitor(s) Displays NEC 90GX2-BK 19" LCD Screen Resolution 800 x 640 Keyboard Leopold Tenkeyless with Cherry Blue switches, USB Mouse Logitech or Microsoft optical wired; either USB or PS 2 PSU Seasonic SS-560KM, modular Case Antec Solo II Cooling CPU: Scythe Big Shuriken; Case: Scythe Slipstream 800 & 500 Hard Drives System: Intel 320 Series SSD, 80 GB;

I have the Pro version which really has nothing extra that I am using. So I recommend to go with the Lite version. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway - 2 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista and Windows7, sometimes Ubuntu and Fedora CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to 2.5GHz Quad Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse terrible devices, who wants them Hard Drives 5x HDD, 2x SSD, 6x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |

I'd suggest you visit this site once a day, sometimes they have free video editor giveaways, but only for a limited time. Over the past three weeks they gave away 2 of them, the only caveat was there was no support for them.
