    Hi
I can download and install winamp(latest version)but when i hit finish i am told that winamp has stopped to function properly, and i re-installed windows just yesterday,i do not get it,and i have not made any changes with fancy software.
Winamp and my windows 7 has never had a good relationship, but it used to run on a fresh re-install,help is needed.

    Kind Regards Asser

    Hello Asser,

Go to Event Viewer and look for errors and post them here. Download a fresh copy from Winamp's website and install and see if it works. Try from a different mirror Winamp - Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com and see it makes any difference. When you install it Right click on the setup and run as administrator. Also when you open the application Run as administrator.

Right click on Winamp shortcut and go to Properties under compatibility make sure there is no check mark "Run this program compatible with" If that didn't work try to check on "Run this program compatible with" Windows XP service pack 3 and see if it launches. One last thing go to Program files and make sure the Winamp folder is deleted.

Do you have working sound on your new fresh reinstall? Can you play music with Windows Media Player?

Up-to-date drivers for your onboard Intel audio?
