YouTube won't properly upload my vids!

Here's the deal, the video gets uploaded, it takes the two centuries it needs to upload and everything but when I click to watch it, the video is just a few seconds in length, a 15 minutes vid gets uploaded as a 34 seconds vid, even though it shows it's a 15 min vid when it's first loading. I've tried to upload other vids I have encoded with similar settings just to get the same result. This is getting extremely frustrating .

Here's some info about the video I'm trying to upload

The only differences between the two are the profile (High@L4.0 vs High@L 3.1) and the number of ReFrames (2 vs 1 frame) as far as the video is concerned.

If I remember correctly, the High profile @L 3.1 is much more popular and more regularly used when encoding video than 4.0 or higher. ReFrames shouldn't really matter, but then again, it IS YouTube and Google we're talking about here, so who knows. Have you tried contacting them for help as well?

Here's the link to it: http://www.google.com/support/forum/...022ab1d5&hl=en

Edit: I converted the file from MP4 to MOV and now the video plays fine, weird, I thought YouTube liked MP4 files.

YouTube only "likes" the actual video streams, but I guess containers also count. MP4 is a versatile container that can hold either audio or video, or, of course, both, and then some more. Next time you mux your files always use MOV.

I still don't get it though, as YouTube clearly recommends using the MP4 container in one of their helping articles. But, yeah, MOV it is.

Hi there
Glad you fixed the problem -- but maybe it's better NOT to put stuff on to You Tube / facebook etc etc,
Mind you I'm over 50 so what would I know about this stuff anyway --I'm I having enough trouble going down escalators on the London Underground system where almost EVERYBODY is staring into Mobile phone screens and totally not looking where they are going.

I'm sure if i were really nasty I could have stamped on loads of expensive Iphones as people bang into me and then say sorry when their expensive Iphone clatters on the floor.

Cheers
