it may well be a codec issue, have you a third party codec installed, if not try using sharks 007 codecs,
    mkv plays fine for me.

Open the first piece with MediaInfo

It should be able to tell if there's really video in the file and what codecs are used for both video and audio. It's a free app I've been using for years.

Looks like 2 and 3 are corrupted. If 1 works, than the others should be OK if they are whole.

You say you downloaded 3 pieces or files. Were they packaged as .rar files? Sequentially numbered files or what? Perhaps the 3 pieces have to be joined first. I'm not that up on .mkv file format, but I think it has an index like .avi. I don't think you can just play any segment like you can with .mpg.

Yeah 3 parts no not RAR they are like this :
    jgntktgelapbd72.ddmf.biz.mkv.001
    jgntktgelapbd72.ddmf.biz.mkv.002
    jgntktgelapbd72.ddmf.biz.mkv.003
a white file i went to the properties and it says that the file type is : windows shell commer
what i did is i renamed all 3 of them like this jgntktgelapbd72.ddmf.biz.mkv the first part only can be played or converted for 2 and 3 it didnt work.
