    windows dvd maker

When you make a video-dvd, the length of the audio in the menu is rather short. Can it be made longer ?

I am not sure of what you mean, please detail. Do you want to stretch the audio, or repeat it?

I want to stretch it. It repeats automatically, but only the first 20 seconds or so.

As far as I know, you can't do this with mp3. Converting it to WMA may bypass the limitation, this has worked for most.

Mp3 or WMA, makes no difference. Any other solution ?

Open Windows DVD Maker > after you have added the pictures and music, click Next > at the top, click Side Show > put a checkmark at " Change slide show length to match music length " > click Change slide show button when done.

Note : I have use that method a few times myself. The hard truth is, the music length still does not match " exactly " as the slide show length.
Many times, I had to also change the Picture Length manually which needed a little calculation
Note : Picture Length means length of EACH slide.
It is also more simpler to fix if the music length is longer than the slide show length, instead of the other way.

see my screenshot for better illustration .....

I'm sorry, but I was referring to a video, not a slideshow. Moreover, I tried what you said with a slideshow and it doesn't work either, at least not in the menu. It does only work with the slideshow itself.

I too have experienced some frustration with this... I have Nero and SoThink DVD creation software as well... SoThink has a nifty chickbox that allows you to extend the menu soundclip for the length of the soundclip. (So the DVD menu sound plays all the way through before repeating, rather than cutting off in the middle).

So I know this is POSSIBLE to do. What I don't know is whether it's possible to do with Windows DVD Maker. Each of these programs has their strengths and weaknesses. Windows DVD Maker puts together a nice DVD Menu, with professional looking menus (complete with scene menus) already put together. The other two that I have (Nero and SoThink) don't that I'm aware of, so for my next couple of projects, I'm going to use Windows DVD Maker regardless...

It would be nice though, if I could make a DVD Menu with Windows DVD Maker, that didn't cut my custom sound files off in the middle... even if they run 45 or 60 seconds or longer. Is there a fix somewhere out there for this? Some obscure tweak that would allow me to extend the play time of the menu sound for a video DVD menu?

Thanks in advance if anybody knows, and if I find one or figure one out, I'll post it.
