the best addon for youtube downloading is this one (IMO)

http://www.bestvideodownloader.com/

,it puts a download button under the video on youtube, and has a dropdown list to choose the format of the dl that you want.
and i think it will show on youtube , whatever browser you use.

if you use firefox here is the addon location ,its less hassle than the .exe

The problem with the FireFox addins that I've used is that they only work with youtube or with a select number of sites. I use RealPlayer which pretty much works with any site that has streaming video. I haven't tried the FF addins lately, do they still only handle select sites?

Most videos go into the browser cache (although I've noticed that more are becoming streaming vids nowadays). For those that still go into the cache, there's a nice program that finds them in the cache & copies them to another folder. Called VideoCacheView...

After watching a video in a Web site, you may want to save the video file into your local disk for playing it offline in the future. If the video file is stored in your browser's cache, this utility can help you to extract the video file from the cache and save it for watching it in the future.

It automatically scans the entire cache of Internet Explorer, Mozilla-based Web browsers (Including Firefox), Opera, and Chrome, and then finds all video files that are currently stored in it. It allows you to easily copy the cached video files into another folder for playing/watching them in the future. If you have a movie player that is configured to play flv files, it also allows you to play the video directly from your browser's cache.

Excellent suggestion for a slightly different situation.
Thanks Borg, and rep+ to you!

Question: Does anyone know how to actually locate IE's video cache?
