avi generations is there a lose

    hi

i work with huge avi movie files and have trouble with running out of c drive disk space

i take it the only way around having to much footage is to make a best shots list in the time line and export to avi...........but this is degrading the quality each time a avi is edited and exported to another avi file.

is there a way round this to get camera quality and edit directly from it

with short films its not a problem as camera files go straight to c drive folder

can i get my best footage to the c drive and junk the un wanted footage without

    exporting?

You can use Machete Lite, a free download, to edit AVI files with NO re-encoding and NO loss of quality.

Machete Video Editor Lite - Free Video Editor

It works ONLY on AVI and WMV.

avi files to shorten and junk sections

    hi

    what a program

ive been having mixed success in machete, although i must admit it is a fantastic program when all goes smoothly.

Heres the good news. its Fantastic to use with adobe avi files , fast easy, fast. good.

with Camstasia the screen capture program, the edit on the avi only works 1 in 10 times i try, after selecting
and putting in key frames and going to save, a message pops up saying` to perform this operation, set the beginning of the selection to a key frame`
i do that but whatever i do i cant get it to accept the key frame,i cant save, and most of the cutting i want to do is with Camtasia avi files?
any ideas, i just want to cut out junk
i understand theres avi type 1 and 11 files maybe Machete doesnt support one, yet if that was the case a message would pop up saying so......
