How do I fix video file

I recovered files accidentally deleted from my sd card using photorec software. I was specifically looking for a video deleted last night and while looking through I see that what should be in video format are now a bunch of jpg still shots that don't play. How did this happen and is there any way of getting this back into video format?

My guess is that it was caused by Photorec. Just going by the name, it sounds as though it is for recovering photo, not videos. I have absolutely no idea of how to recombine them. Maybe someone that knows videos much better than I may be able to help.

If that SSD is still available to repeat the attempt of recovery, try some other software. The only one that I know anything about is O&O's DiskRecovery, but it is somewhat expensive to just recover one video.

I don't know much about file recovery but there was a video post on cnet and the guy recommended that software. It's from cgsecurity. org/wiki/PhotoRec. The site says it can retrieve video files as well.

I understand, and yes, I checked their website also, and it does say that it will work on those file types. The question is how well it does so, and if their is any special setup configuration required for it to do so. I doubt that the problem has anything to do with something outside of Photorec. When I Googled for a forum, almost all of the returns that I found were Linux related, so it would may not be too Windows friendly, even though it is supposed to be. Perhaps you might find an answer browsing through the article in this link:
