    HTPC Itunes stuttering

    Hi,

Hopefully someone can help me solve an issue I am having with my HTPC. I have exhausted Apple support (well their support may as well have been "have you tried turning it off and on again ).

When I play iTunes purchased content (TV Season passes) on my HTPC at 1080p @ 60hz, the video stutters like mad. If I play the same content via Quicktime, there is no stuttering. If I drop the resolution down to 1080p @ 24hz (using the ATI software), video no longer stutters in iTunes, but I get flickers on the screen when changing windows or when a page loads.

If I play HD content using my BD drive or XBMC, I get absolutely no stuttering and it plays flawlessly at 1080p @ 60hz.

I've even tried different brands of TV, as there were issues with the Apple TV on Samsung TV's. I borrowed an LG LCD and the same as the above mentioned (stutter at 1080p @ 60hz, no stutter @ 24hz).

    My HTPC specs are:

    Intel Core i3 2120
    Asus P8H67-M PRO Rev.3.0
Seasonic X-400FL 460W ATX Fanless PSU
    Corsair XMS3 Desktop Memory 8GB (2 x 4GB)
    Crucial M4 64gb
    Samsung F4 2TB HDD
Sapphire HD6670 1GB Ultimate Graphics Card

Does anyone have any ideas on how to rectify this?

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards,

    Ross

Try reinstalling itunes and the graphics card driers. This happened to me a few weeks ago, and I fixed it using that

    Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately I have tried removing iTunes and ATI CC, then rebooting and then running CCleaner and reinstalling, but the issue still stands.

This must be a software related issue/glitch, because a core i3 with a video card like yours is more than enough to handle 1080p video.
