I found VLC 2.0.1 (very) buggy playing a blu ray folders. I reverted to v1.1.11 and everything is fine again.

Same here. VLC's 2.0 and 2.0.1 versions audio continue to stutter. I tried all suggested options posted here in the forum and on other web sites but no joy. V1.1.11 works fine. I'll give KMplayer a try today and see what happens.

Yesterday I restored a previous image with only Windows, MSOffice and security programs. But I aml not yet sure if I want to install the KMPlayer. VLC is totally out..

The latest version of the KMPlayer is having a small glitch. Very often it does not play a movie file if I try to play it by clicking on the file, instead the computer either freezes or reverts to VGA display. I have to open the the file from the KMPlayer Menu to play it properly.

Perhaps I shall install the KMPlayer in the safe mode to see if that cures the malaise. In meantime suggestions about trying something other that VLC, WMP and KMPlayer are most welcome.

PS: I installed the KMPlayer in the Safe Mode. It plays great there but without sound because the Audio Drivers don't get loaded in the Safe Mode.

Went back to the normal mode and the same problem occurred. But I found that the fault was not with the KMPlayer but with my 7 year old video driver. The driver is non-compatible with Window 7 and I am running it in XP SP3 Compatible mode. It is sometimes unable to cope with the new version 3.1.0 of the KMPlayer if I click on a movie file instead of opening it from inside the KMPlayer.

I installed KMplayer. It works OK but the video quality is not as sharp as VLC's. I don't have driver issues. Maybe needs settings adjusted correctly. Will keep for a while but will continue to try VLC as new updates come out.

Other suggestions you may also try with your driver issues are:

GOM Media Player GOM Media Player - The only video player you need. Download for Free!
or
SUPER SUPER &copy - Media File Converter, Media File Encoder, Video Player, Audio Player, Media Player

Both are listed in Brink's "Free Great Programs for Windows 7" thread in this forum. I did not try them since KM works for me as a temporary solution to VLC's problem but maybe they will work for you.

Thank you, Manigue. I have just downloaded and tried GOM Media Player. Prima facie it appears to be an excellent program.
