Renaming a DVD/CD
Hi Folks, is it possible to remove the writing on a disc done with a DVD/CD marker pen?

Try using rubbing alcohol... it will clean "sharpie" markers with ease and won't eat into the delicate backing layer on the drive. (Which is basically just a coat of varnish)

It's the slightly diluted stuff you see at any pharmacy.
surgical spirit, in other words.
or ...
i know your a scotsman (like myself) and we are supposed to be tight, but you could just copy the disc burn another and write on it correctly.
Doh I was specifically referring to "Isopropyl Alcohol", the stuff you get at the drug store to disinfect wounds etc.

Isopropyl alcohol should not damage the CD back, it does not dissolve plastic or lacquer or whatever exactly they spray on the back of DVDs.
It would be best to try it first on a DVD/CD that you can afford to lose.
