windows media player has stopped working

every time i run windows media player it keeps bringing up a message which says

The file wmploc.dll has a version number of 120.7.7601.17514 where
    12.0.7600.16667 was expected

windows media player is not installed properly and must be reinstalled.

Do you want to install the player from the microsoft web site?

I went to the web site but i couldn't download coz there was no link.
Is there anybody who can help me fix this?

    Do the following steps:
    1. Click the Start Menu.
    2. Type "Windows Features" (without quotes) into the Search programs and files box.
    3. Expand Media Features by pressing the + next to it (on the left).
    4. Uncheck the box next to Windows Media Player.
    5. Agree to turn off software that depends on Windows Media Player, as well.
    6. Agree to any other dialog boxes that may appear.
    7. Restart your computer.
    8. Type "Windows Features" (without quotes) into the Search programs and files box.
    9. Expand Media Features by pressing the + next to it (on the left).
    10. Put a check back in the box for Windows Media Center and Windows Media Player.

Hello writhziden. I did this earlier. But my windows medai player still stopped working.
I just remember I did download and install new themes and installed. After I installed theme, my player corrupted. How to solve this and how to uninstall themes since I cant see it from my "uninstall program" .

    Thanks.

The Windows "Features" solution did not work for me. But the "Theme" installation may be the way to go, which I need to check and re-post my findings.
