Camcorder's software is not Windows 7 compatible.
I'm a brand newbie, and I need to record some videos to post to youtube. I have acquired some gear which – to my surprise - is not compatible: a Canon FS200 digital video camcorder, the software of which is not supported by Windows 7.... sort of.
Canon ( Windows® 7 Compatibility List ) advises that Windows 7 supports the FS200, except: “”” * CameraWindow does not start (still images only).
^ PIXELA ImageMixer 3SE is not supported by Windows 7 at this time. “””
The software they refer to is described in the manual as follows: “”PIXELA Imagemixer 3 SE Ver. 4 transfer utility – Software for saving and transferring movies; + Imagemixer Video Tools, for managing, editing, and playing back movies.”” Since the ImageMixer software is not supported, I'm not sure what IS supported. The FS200 records onto a 15mb/s flash memory chip.
So, the software for this camcorder (I'm interested in movies, not stills) is not supported by Windows 7. Can I use other, third party, software which will handle the job which the PIXELA was designed to do? I have not loaded the software onto the computer. And there is the matter of drivers........
The computer is an Acer laptop, i3, Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit.
If someone could sort out this software for me, I would be grateful.
