Need help on playing FLV files using VLC media player.

    Hi,

I have win7 Home basic service pack1, 64 bit OS. I'm not able to play FLV files using the VLC 2.0.1. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it many times but it didn't work. When I'm trying to play the files nothing is shown, not even a single error message. but no sound/display. please help me. Thanks

Have you tried alternate players like PotPlayer? Also try installing klite mega codec pack, and try running your video again. If it still doesn't work, it's likely your FLV files are damaged.

No. I havn't tried it with any other alternate player. I have tried to install Win7 Codec but then also it didn't work out. VLC is able to play any other files. how can i check if the FLV files are damaged?

What does the Properties/General tab of the FLV file show as an association? VLC or something else?

Can you try downloading another FLV file from Youtube or some other site and then playing it with VLC media player? If VLC media player can run the new FLV file fine, then there's a problem with the FLV file you were initially trying to play. If VLC can't run the new FLV file either, try installing an alternative FLV player which SHOULD fix your problem.
