Windows Live Photo Viewer has messed up my pic's.

    Hello
I HAD a library of family photos, which I originally catalogued successfully in "Microsoft Photo Premium" a 2004 programme. I have always found it useful, have got used to it and can use it to edit and organise my pictures quickly and efficiently. When I changed to Win 7 about 3 years ago, I installed it again, and even though it was only marked as for XP, it worked perfectly in 7, without running it in Compatability mode.

Then I installed Windows Live Essentials, followed by Windows Media Centre. Both of these programmes have taken over my collection and insist on re-cataloguing them, completely erroneously. Some pictures are not even available anymore, being marked by Windows Live Photos as "Corrupted" or "Deleted."

    EDIT:
Forgot to say that I have completely uninstalled Photo Premium from my PC, but it is still on the laptop, where the pic's show every sign of the same behaviour after WMC was installed there. I still have the Photo Premium DVD and it is pristine.

Fortunately, I had copied all my collection of almost 900 photos, catalogued in the original Photo Premium form, to a 16GB USB stick.

I would be grateful if someone could tell me the best way to go to reinstall my photos. I would like to return to Photo Premium, but will I have to reinstall Windows Live Essentials? I like WMC, as I watch sport, etc on my 24"" Iiyama without boring the wife. Will WMC grab my pics from Photo Premium again?

Reading my PC spec's will show that I havea 500GB Hdd which has O/S, programmes and Photos, and a 1TB Hdd with WMC TV & Videos. Can I uninstall W L Essentials and then install Photo Premium again, onto the 500 GB disk? I am stuck!

    All advice gratefully accepted.
