| Windows 7: Flash vids don't work from sites on IE9; yes on Firefox |

Flash vids don't work from sites on IE9; yes on Firefox Okay, I was at Cinema Snob.com and on the main page where the videos are at, they're all in white. When I click it, you hear sound, but don't see the vids itself, nor the player for that matter. It's the same for other sites too like the News Bulletin at Supermanhomepage.com, and comicbookmovie when they post a vid in an article like this one: First Red Band Clip From DREDD Hits.
However, Youtube is fine, Netflix is fine as well. And, this problem is no way, shape, or form, at Firefox. It's all normal there, but not on IE9. So these videos that have visual problems (if that's the right term); Cinemasnob's videos are posted from blip.tv.
Last night, and I know this wasn't a problem til after this; I had a driver problem, which revealed itself to be Intel Graphics from Vista, and got a new one. Don't know if that's still here, but Intel Vista was most likely given to me when I did a clean install of Windows 7 due to a virus I got last week (there is a thread on that).
Other info: important updates are up to date; I have Filehippo and I did dl what updates I needed there, but for some reason the lisitings are still present. I did check website priovacy settings when I was at Cinema Snob.com and saw that the blip.tv links were being blocked, is that why? Plus, I do have Driver Sweeper, but I don't know how to use it, and kinda scared to.
I have talked to Dustssailor on this; I don't think it's a big issue, like my driver is the cause, because wouldn't they mean Firefox wouldn't be fine either, or even Youtube? It's just certain sites on IE9; I have also tried those vids without any add-ons on, no luck; reseted IE9; still nothing. Am'I missing something? I want to see if my privacy settings are the cause, though.
Any ideas on what could be the problem? | My System Specs |

Go to Manage Add-ons and under show, click all add-ons. Disable everything unless it is listed specifically under Adobe or Microsoft Add-ons. You might go one step further and uninstall whatever you disable. Go to search provider and make sure you have a widely used search provider, such as Bing, live, or Google, and delete any other. Go to Tracking protection and make sure everything in there is disabled.

Did you say your were using some kind of norton add-on? uninstall it if you will. Uninstall any security add-on. List ALL security software you have installed. I believe you at least have MSE and Malwarebytes, yes?
Restart your computer, and re-test those sites.

MSE, SUPER-AntiSpyware, and Malwarebytes. The Norton is Norton Safe Web Lite toolbar.
And the RSS Feeds, nothing is there for IE9, just 7 & 8. The the reinstall links above; one is for uninstall, and the other is to reinstall, right? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Gateway SX2802-07 OS Windows 7 CPU Intel Pentium E5300 Motherboard WG43M Graphics Card Intel(R) G45/G43 Express Chipset Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays Acer S232HL Keyboard Standard PS/2 Mouse HID-Compliant |

I'll let you know what happens tonight after work. So expect an update and keep watch.
But let me ask you this one important question: do people really use IE these days (compared to the popularity of Firefox)? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Gateway SX2802-07 OS Windows 7 CPU Intel Pentium E5300 Motherboard WG43M Graphics Card Intel(R) G45/G43 Express Chipset Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays Acer S232HL Keyboard Standard PS/2 Mouse HID-Compliant |

According to StatCounter, IE is the most widely used web browser in America.

I personally use IE9 and love it more than all others. Prefer Firefox to IE8 and before, however. Your problems with IE do not generally happen to all users. Your experiences tell you that IE is flawed due to what you see first hand, but again IE works fine for most people. Whether or not they prefer it is another story. | My System Specs | | Computer type PC/Desktop System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell Inspiron M5040 OS Windows 8 Pro with Media Center x64 CPU AMD E-450 APU 1.65 GHz Memory 4GB Graphics Card Built-in Radeon HD 6320 Graphics Screen Resolution 1366 x 768 Mouse Microsoft Wireless Cooling fan Hard Drives 500GB Internet Speed 2.86Mbps Download Speed, 2.85Mbps Upload Speed & 26ms Ping Antivirus Defender Browser IE10 |

Hey, look; I didn't do the reinstall yet, I thought I could try it tomorrow, but it might be good that I did because I noticed something else: when I plug in my BD drive, and as the BD loads so my computer, the color changes to Windows 7 Basic. And as the film played, I found myself surfing the web (on IE) and ended up at those sites again, where this time the vids did show up visually. But then when I stopped the movie, and it wasn't Basic anymore, it was back to the non-seeing problem again. I just wanted to add this new info on here just in case. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Gateway SX2802-07 OS Windows 7 CPU Intel Pentium E5300 Motherboard WG43M Graphics Card Intel(R) G45/G43 Express Chipset Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays Acer S232HL Keyboard Standard PS/2 Mouse HID-Compliant |

I had the problem with Blip videos described by BinkerNate only it was on Firefox, in Ubuntu (posting my findings here shall be my good deed for today).
A day or 2 ago I tried to play a Blip video and received an error, when I retried a while later that was the first time I encountered the issue described (this was a clue).
Since then I have preformed some troubleshooting which made it look like the issue was with a cached Blip flash file (served from the period they experienced issues), and I thought this was confirmed as when I cleared Blip cookies and my browser cache (called "Temporary Internet Files" in IE) the issue seemed to go away.
NB: Make sure you close any windows or tabs with videos with the issue before trying to clear your cache and cookies
However, for me it wasn't so much that it went away as revealed more information about the issue, as the Blip video that worked had a different preroll ad then the one that played almost every time I suffered a lack of video.
I don't suppose you are also getting the ad for a certain brand of razor?

If its Firefox; no ad appears at all. IE, well, I can't see the ads anyway so I can't answer you. So deleting the cookies did the trick? I kinda wondering if it is my graphics, given what I said in my previous post. Out of nowhere, Aero was replaced by Basic for no reason, and changing the performace/appearence didn't even work. After close to 5 minutes, it changed back.
So could it be my Graphics is negetivly affecting my IE...? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Gateway SX2802-07 OS Windows 7 CPU Intel Pentium E5300 Motherboard WG43M Graphics Card Intel(R) G45/G43 Express Chipset Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays Acer S232HL Keyboard Standard PS/2 Mouse HID-Compliant Flash vids don't work from sites on IE9; yes on Firefox problems?
