    windows live photo gallery

I was scanning photos into windows live photogallery, then dragging them into thier particular folders. I realized that the files stopped a 999 and started making copys or duplicates and thos picturs did not go to the end, they went next to the origial file. I want to be able to arrange the photos by moving them around so I can keep them in order. I tried the directions on how to disable auto arrange but when I clicked on DOWNLOAD for the bat file I recieved a pop up that said UNSPECIFIED ERROR. Need thoughts and ideas. I have scanned about 1600 photos in and need to be able to arrange by dragging them.

Hello Bill, and welcome to Seven Forums.

The download seems to be working fine for me. Could you post back with the full error message? As a test, try a different browser (ex: Firefox) to see if it may just be something with your current one. :)

Windows Explorer Auto Arrange - Disable

    Hope this helps for now,

Thank you for your response. I tried using Google and it appeared it was going to let me, It had a pop up that said this may be harmfull to your computer, do you want to contimue. I clicked yes and a pop up said "don't say we didn't warn you" so I did not continue.

Today I tried again on IE and it seemed to work, I saved it, opened it and ran it. All the desk top icons disappeared. I restarted the computer and they all returned. I serched for the bat file, found it, opened it and ran it. It appears it ran but I still cannot arrange files within folders such as arranging photos with in a folder or in Wndows Live Photo Gallery.

    Any ideas?
    Appreciate your input

    Thanks
    Bill

You will not be able to arrange them how you like in a "library" folder if that's where you are trying at. The tutorial only works in non library locations in Windows Explorer.

Did you use OPTION ONE? In addition, see the note and warning box at the top of the tutorial to see if any items may apply.
