downloaded flv is saved as "html" and "file"

    Greetings to you all,

How can a downloaded flv file from youtube saved itself as either "html" or "file" and amazingly both were and still playable by VLC player but not other media players? Can anyone please help fix this issue as I need to compile these flv files onto a dvd for my relatives in the outer islands.

Media encoders/decoders like X-Media Recode and Nero Vision won't accept both these file types. In case you are wondering what these files are: they are separate episodes of Merlin's Season 4. Episodes 1-4,6 and 8 are okay but E05 is saved as "html" and E07 is saved as "file." I used GetGo Download Manager and Orbit Downloader.

    Appreciate any help.

    regards and God Bless,

well try downloading the file with kissyoutube.com or with easyvideodownloader firefox extension then if they still come up with an .html extension rename them to .flv or .mp4 and for making dvd you have to convert them using a good converter first, like : Imtoo video converter.

Thank you Nemesis for a wonderful response. But I guess I will mark this as solved because I already fixed them while trying a series of options (ticking boxes) within meta-data injector and it fixed the problem. I should have gotten back here to do it earlier but I was too busy with my islands' crisis with shortage of imported grains.

    Thanks again and God Bless,
