Are you talking about a video capture program? If so, I like HyperCam. It's the first screen cap program I've used that doesn't need to have hardware acceleration switched off.

Hypercam seems fine - watch out for unwanted toolbar installers along the way.

The output file is pretty big, tho.

Good point about the output file size... my first 2x3 inch 30 minute capture was 2GB!
I had to go and change the encoder to "Mpeg4 Codec Video Compressor V1", and bump up the capture rate to 15fps.
Now a 30 minute capture of a 2x3 inch screen gives me about 200MB.

I find HyperCam a drag to install, (yes! i have tried before!), I must say Hypercam is a good recorder, however, now "betterinstaller.exe" (hypercam installed) is corrupt, thats right! When you dowload HC2SETUP and run the installer as administrator. it just hangs at the "Please wait..." screen. D:

It probably has not much to do with the version, just download the codec, that's it.

Sorry for the delay!
Yes, I believe we are using the same or very similar version. When I click my dropdown box, I have a wide choice of compressors. I didn't go out of my way to install 'em, either, they're just... there.

Minimized Programs and Resources
Does minimizing a program to the Task Bar and leaving it there for the day, using it off and on, use up more resources than we might suspect? I generally minimize Thunderbird and keep it open all day which makes it handy. Would it be wiser to close it after each use? Thank you.

How to find out which programs are using the resources?
I have a problem, but I'm not sure if it's due to Windows 7: There is a test SW running on Windows 7 and a system under test on a board. It seems that there are sudden 1 - 3 second gaps in the messaging between the board and the test SW. It seems to happen 1 - 3 times during a 1,5 hour run. ...

More Resources to Programs?
Hello, I'm running CCleaner on 'wipe free space' at the moment, and it's going to take at least two hours from my calculations. I've got a 1TB hard-disk, so understandably that's a lot of data to overwrite. The thing is that I looked at my resource monitor and it's only using 3% of the CPU and...
